1. About MySteps

MySteps is an Android step-counting application designed to provide a simple way to view and keep track of your daily, weekly, monthly and yearly step totals.

MySteps is developed and operated by Soirbheachas Ltd.

2. Physical activity permission

MySteps requests Android physical activity access so that it can obtain step-count information from your device.

This access is required because displaying your step count is a core function of the app.

MySteps uses this information to calculate and display your daily, weekly, monthly and yearly step totals.

3. How your step information is handled

Step-count information used by MySteps is processed locally on your Android device.

MySteps stores your step history locally on your device so that the app can display your previous step totals and maintain your history.

Your MySteps step history is not uploaded to Soirbheachas Ltd servers.

Soirbheachas Ltd does not sell your step information or use it for advertising.

4. History backup and restore

MySteps includes optional history export and import features so that you can make a backup of your saved MySteps history.

If you choose to export your history, MySteps creates a backup file containing your saved step history in a location selected by you.

MySteps only imports history when you deliberately select a MySteps backup file using the app's import feature.

These backup and restore features are controlled by you and do not upload your MySteps history to Soirbheachas Ltd.

5. Information stored by the app

MySteps stores step-history information and a small amount of app preference information locally on your device.

App preferences may include settings you select within MySteps, such as display and widget preferences.

This locally stored information is used to provide the app's functionality and is not used by Soirbheachas Ltd to identify you.

6. Accounts, advertising and analytics

MySteps does not require you to create an account or sign in.

MySteps does not contain advertising.

MySteps does not currently use third-party advertising or analytics services.

7. Personal information

Soirbheachas Ltd does not use MySteps to collect your name, email address, contacts, precise location or other directly identifying personal information.

8. Data sharing

Soirbheachas Ltd does not receive or maintain a server-side copy of your MySteps step history through the app.

Step information processed by MySteps is not intentionally transmitted to Soirbheachas Ltd or shared with advertisers by MySteps.

9. Data retention and deletion

MySteps does not maintain an online account or server-side database containing your step history.

Your MySteps history and preferences are stored locally on your device.

You can remove locally stored MySteps information by clearing the app's data or uninstalling MySteps.

If you create an exported MySteps history backup, that file is stored in the location you select and can be deleted by you using the normal file-management facilities on your device.

10. Third-party and Android services

MySteps uses Android and Google platform functionality required to obtain and process step-count information on your device.

Your use of Android, Google and other services configured on your device may also be subject to the privacy policies of those service providers.

11. Security

MySteps uses Android's permission and storage mechanisms to access and maintain the information required for the app's functionality.

Because MySteps does not maintain a Soirbheachas Ltd server-side database containing your step history, the app does not transfer your MySteps history to Soirbheachas Ltd for storage.

12. Children

MySteps is not specifically designed for children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children through an account or online registration system.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated if the app's features, permissions or data-handling practices change.

Any updated version will be published on this page and the "Last updated" date above will be changed accordingly.
